Rioja Señorio de Villarica Crianza

Bodega Villarica is a family business of wine producers, founded in 1940 by Florentino, father of four. It was actually their great grandfather who first began producing wine and the family have followed in his footsteps ever since. It is the children who now run the family bodega, with Pablo, the oldest as the enologist. The vineyard itself is situated in San Asensio, in the Rioja Alta, an area not so well known for producing Rioja, however the family believe it to be perfect due to its altitude, rich soil and natural barrier, the Cantabria Sierra, which protects the land from the north cold air and San Lorenze Sierra which protects it from the Southern hot winds.
