We are super-excited to announce the opening of L'Oculto our first permanent site, following a successful pop-up which took place in August, within the same space.
You only have to take a look at our previous blog post to see how much we enjoyed our August residency, so you can imagine how excited we are now!
Closed from 25th Dec until Wednesday 13th Jan
where normal opening hours resume
Finally, some words and pictures...
Back in August we held a pop-up at 'Number 57' Loampit Hill and ran it as a little Spanish deli during the day, with a tapas, wine and sherry offering for the evenings. We had no idea how it was going to go or how successful it would be but it was something we really wanted to do. It was an exciting opportunity for us, especially as it was in an area that we felt very at home in and have come to love.
Our Brockley Market regulars already knew our produce from the market and judging by their faces on our opening night were equally excited to try our tapas. What we weren't prepared for was a full house! Day one and straight in at the deep end, so heads down, we pulled together as a team and did our very best to make sure everyone had a great time - thankfully all went smoothly and we finished our first day on a high!
We were to be continually surprised, as each night that followed was also a full house - it was the best feeling in the world to see everyone enjoying themselves and even better when we saw those same people returning week after week. We couldn't have wished for more. Sure, looking back, there were things we could have tweaked and some things we could have done better but considering we only had two days to set up the space, we were very happy and it was a great learning experience.
Our stay at Number 57 went way too quickly and i have to say, we enjoyed every minute of it. So we'd like to say Thank You firstly to Mary, for having us and allowing us to take up residency at her wonderful shop. Secondly to our great team members and friends Fran and Monica. Also to my Dad for building up a great serving counter in a record breaking few days, which turned a lot of heads and resulted in a few commission requests! Last but not least, we'd like to thank all the lovely customers that supported us throughout this month and who continue to do so at Brockley Market, weekly. Would we do it again? You bet! In fact, we'd like nothing more.
We're excited to announce that our pop-up at 57 Loampit Hill, SE13 is now open!
What we're about:
We are a small Spanish deli by day, with an offering of artisan produced Spanish cheeses, charcuterie, small-producer wines, including organic and biodynamic, fresh, local, artisan bread and more, all of which is available to take home. Alternatively, come in, sit back and relax and enjoy a light lunch offering of pintxos and boards partnered with some of Spain's best artisan wines available by the glass. You may want to do both of course! no problem.
From early evening onwards we extend our offering of pintxos and boards to include some tasty tapas, using beautiful herbs from @cookoobox those incredible heritage tomatoes from @WildOrganic and pickled fennel by @vadaszdeli all of which can be found @brockleymarket - and with a weekly changing menu there will always be something new to try! Come alone, or with friends.
During the evening, wherever possible, we are also happy to serve you deli produce to take home, so if you've enjoyed a wine and and a bite to eat and decide you'd like to take something home with you, or you just want to pop in on the way home from work for a couple of bits, no problem. Will will accomodate as best we can. We are a very small team and in order to be as flexible as possible we made need you to be a little patient should we be very busy during the evening.
We've also got some incredible extra virgin olive oil, fire-roasted red peppers, Galician fish & seafood conservas, raw honey and Gordal olives you may want to try stacked up on the deli shelf and we've also sourced and have on order ready for next week some very exciting new cheeses joining the table. Be the first to try them Wednesday 12th August!

Great news! We’ve just received our TEN (temporary events notice) for our August Pop-up at @57arts SE13! This means you can enjoy some of Spain’s best artisan and small-producer wines including organic and biodynamic, alongside our award-winning range of cheeses, charcuterie and more! What better way to enjoy your lunch break or evening after work!
Doors will open at midday on Wednesday 5th August so pop by lunch time or after work, on your own or with friends and take a moment to relax and enjoy a good glass of wine and a few pintxos, a cheeseboard, charcuterie board, or some tasty tapas!
Alternatively, you can always grab yourself a bottle of something nice, along with some deli produce to take home. As well as a great range of cheese and charcuterie, we’ll have lots of other Spanish goodies available that we don’t generally offer at our weekly market stalls, along with some great artisan bread.
We're so excited, because for us the area has always been very close to our heart, as we’ve been part of Brockley Market from the beginning, so over time, we've got to know lots of local residents which in turn has made us feel part of the community. So we’re very excited to have this opportunity, thanks to Mary at Number 57. One thing is for sure, we’ll be working very hard to make sure we bring something special to the area and create a space where you can come, relax and enjoy some great food and wine, Spanish style. We can’t wait to open the doors to welcome you and we really hope you enjoy what we do.
So please stay tuned for more updates, tell your friends and we look forward to seeing you soon. We must dash now as we have lots to do - we don’t even have tables and chairs yet!
Welcome to our new website and online store, its been a long time coming and for reasons which include slowly being driven insane by a certain web developer type, we have decided to build our own website and keep things a little simpler. We hope you like it - if you do, please let us know and spread the word, if you don't, please also let us know and we'll do our very best to make sure any future visits are a better experience for you.
We're aiming to update our new website weekly, adding new products along the way, making sure you always have something new to choose from. We'll also be putting together some pretty awesome hampers to help make your lives easier when looking for a gift for someone. We'll also let you know of any events we're taking part in throughout the year in the Find Us section.
