Organic Horchata (sachet)
Horchata is the highly nutritious drink enjoyed by the Spanish during hot summers, particularly in the south. Made by soaking organically grown tiger nuts from Alboraia, Valencia in water and then crushing them to extract the juice. Our organic Horchata has a deep, sweet, malty flavour much better than any commercially produced Horchata. The traditional methods used by Enric and his team is also ecologically sound as no heavy machinery is used in its production.
Many years ago, as the King of Catalonia and Aragon was passing through Valencia, he tried Horchata and declared that it was gold – ‘or’ in Catalonian – and that is how this traditional Spanish drink got its name.
Rich in flavour with a smooth, creamy texture, our organic Horchata not only makes a perfect summer drink, it is also highly nutritious and can therefore be drank anytime as part of a healthy diet.

Simply whisk one sachet together with 200ml of ice-cold water and enjoy.
It is a great alternative to milk for people with lactose intolerance and once mixed can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days (just give it a quick whisk if it has been stored for more than a few hours). Horchata can be used in baking, mixed into smoothies or used to make delicious ice cream. It is gluten-free, fibre-rich and contains no additives or preservatives and is suitable for diabetics. There is evidence to suggest that traditional Horchata could help in the reduction of LDL ‘bad’ cholesterol and increase HDL ‘good’ cholesterol, as it is high in oleic acid and vitamin E, which have an antioxidant effect on fats. It may also be beneficial in the prevention of arteriosclerosis and for people with digestive problems.
